Biography: Susan Moore Professor and Chair of the Fine Arts Department believes that students who study art at the undergraduate level find successful creative careers. Susan leads a diverse group of faculty; she mentors and supports them in their unique roles in the Fine Arts Department. Susan believes that studio art is an integral component of a liberal arts degree program. Her career path in art and education exemplifies the utilization of an art degree, part of a liberal arts undergraduate education, as a strong foundation for success. Susan is dedicated to the academic success of students in art majors, minors, and general education through quality high-impact practices in teaching and learning. After developing an international education program in the arts, Susan has led many groups of students to reside in Italy for a month. They discover the special qualities of Florence while making photographs and learning about the art of the Italian Renaissance. Her experience and skills have prepared her to navigate contemporary challenges and the ever-changing landscape in academia. Susan is a photographer and teacher with a BA degree in art from Columbia College in Chicago, an MA degree in art education from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, and an MFA in photography from Washington University in St. Louis.
